A jury in Allegheny County, PA, recently awarded the family of a man who was killed by an asbestos related disease, $7 million.
The family filed a suit against the former employers claiming that they are responsible for his wrongful development of the disease and early death.
Exposure at Work
The man, who was a resident of Ross, was employed at Koppers Co. Inc., and was bought by Beazer plc in 1988.
He worked at various locations for the family and, according to the suit, worked with an around asbestos containing products.
Family Files Suit
The man’s family filed the suit after he died from mesothelioma, an illness that is caused exposure to asbestos.
Other defendants that were named in the suit, include:
• Fisher Scientific International Inc.
• Dravo Corp.
