Woman Sues for Exposure to Asbestos from Brakes

The victim was exposed to asbestos almost daily from the 1960’s to the 1980’s at her own home where her husband and children would do brake work on cars in their driveway and garage.

Unknowingly, the woman was exposed to asbestos when laundering the dusty clothes and rags used by her husband and kids after they worked. She would do their laundry with no realization of the exposure she was enduring to asbestos-laden dust from often found on brakes.

Brake dust that contains asbestos can be released when a brake disk is removed from the vehicle.

The dust is not visible to the naked eye and when dust is released from the brakes it will most likely contain asbestos.

The brand predominately used during the brake work will be sued for woman’s illness and eventual death due to asbestos exposure.

The Aftermath

Although it is too late to help this New Jersey mother and wife, the attorneys filing the suit are doing so on her behalf and for the benefit of the loved ones who were left behind and to prevent future similar cases.
