A former Seaman recently filed a lawsuit against his former employer for allegedly exposing him to asbestos while at work.
As a result of his exposure, the man claims his health is deteriorating and holds the company responsible.
Plaintiff Claims Workplace Exposure
During the 1940’s, Edgar Taylor was employed with Amoco Shipping as a seaman and member of the crew.
During this time, he claims he worked with and around products containing asbestos and as a result he unknowingly inhaled and ingested the fibers.
Lawsuit Allegations
“While the plaintiff worked on the vessels, he was exposed to asbestos dust and fibers,” states the suit. “Plaintiff would show that he sustained severe and permanent personal injuries from said exposure.”
The suit names BP Amoco Chemical Company and BP Products North America Inc. as defendants in the suit.
Taylor also hopes to be compensated for his mental anguish and medical expenses from the suit.
