Woman Files Asbestos Suit for Brother

A suit was recently filed by a woman on behalf of her brother for his alleged automotive product asbestos exposure.

Betty Tally claims her brother, Herbert Hollis, died due to his exposure to asbestos while doing home and automotive repairs.

Suit Claims Workplace Exposure

Hollis was reportedly self-employed as a laborer where he poured and finished cement in residential neighborhoods.

From 1961 to 1990 Hollis was also employed as a laborer at Consolidated Pipe, UAB, and Foundry.

During this time, Tally claims that her brother inhaled, ingested and absorbed asbestos fibers from the products that he was working with and around.

Sister Accuses Former Employers

Talley has filed suits against 61 corporations claiming that they were aware of the asbestos risks and should have done more to inform their employees.

The suit blames the companies for Hollis’s death from mesothelioma and states that the former employers failed to provide adequate instructions regarding asbestos in the workplace and proper hygiene methods to avoid such exposure.

Brother Dies from Mesothelioma

Talley says her brother died in 2005 from mesothelioma, only three years after learning about his illness.

She claims that during this time, her brother experienced a great deal of pain and suffering, loss of wages and accrued medical expenses.

Talley is seeking compensation in excess of $500,000, in addition to the cost of the suit.
