Mesothelioma: 12 Essential Facts

Estate of Mesothelioma Victim Files Suit

The estate of a man who recently died from mesothelioma, an illness caused by exposure to asbestos, has filed a suit on his behalf.

The lawsuit claims his former employers are responsible for the pain and disfigurement he suffered from prior to his sudden death.

Action Being Taken for Workplace Exposure

The estate of Bernard Lichtenstien says that during the time of his employment working doing home and automotive repairs, he was wrongly exposed to asbestos.

Named as defendants in the suit are the Federal-Mogul Asbestos Personal Injury Trust and Felt Products Manufacturing.

Lichtenstien was reportedly employed with these companies from 1957 to 1978.

Man Develops Asbestos Related Illness

As a result of his exposure to asbestos, from the products he worked with and around, Lichenstien developed mesothelioma and his life was cut short.

The suit claims his employers should have known the asbestos fibers contained in their products were lethal.

According to his estate, the defendants failed to provide their workers with any protection or advise them of precautions they could take to prevent such exposure from happening.

They are seeking compensation on Lichenstien’s behalf in excess of $100,000, in addition to the costs of the suit.
