Second Suit Filed on Behalf of Boilermaker

A second lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a boilermaker who allegedly worked with and around asbestos during his employment.

As a result of his exposure to the fatal carcinogen, the man developed an “asbestos-related disease” that took his life and his family is now taking action on his behalf.

Family Files Suit

W.Z. Hutson reportedly filed a suit against his former employers before his death and simply received a claim.

His family then decided to take charge and filed a second suit on his behalf.

The suit has been filed against A.O. Smith Corp. in addition to 67 other companies.

Companies Accused

According to the petition, A.O. Smith Corp. along with the other companies knowingly manufactured and distributed products that contained asbestos.

The suit accuses the defendants of being negligent for failing to test their products and properly warn their employers of the dangers linked to asbestos.

Man Exposed Loses Battle

Hutson worked as a general laborer and boilermaker for various employers, all of which reportedly caused him to be exposed to asbestos and eventually become ill.

Even though Hutson already filed a suit and received a claim, his family now seeks damages for his wrongful death.
