DuPont Asbestos Policies Questioned

After a suit was filed on behalf of a former employee who died from asbestos exposure at work, the asbestos policies of DuPont Sabine Works facility are being questioned.

Attorneys for the family who filed the suit on behalf of their loved one claim that the condition of the chemical company in the 1960’s was so “bad that its right to exist should be taken away.”

Man Exposed at Work

The family of Willis Whisnat Jr., recently filed a suit on his behalf after he suddenly died from mesothelioma.

Whisnat worked as a pipefitter at DuPont in 1966, and also worked as an independent contractor.

During his employment, his family believes that he was wrongfully exposed to asbestos and as a result contracted the fatal illness.

Family Takes Action with Suit

Whisnat’s family joined a class-action suit against DuPont and several other oil companies for the wrongful exposure.

The class members claim that DuPont negligently and maliciously exposed workers to asbestos with full knowledge of its repercussions.

“The defendant knew of the toxicity of asbestos prior to the first exposure of Whisnat to the defective and unreasonably dangerous material on its premises,” claims Glen Morgan, attorney for the family.
