A Mesothelioma and Asbestos Information and Treatment Center Resource
A suit has recently been filed against 38 companies for the illness that a former employee developed due to asbestos exposure.
The plaintiff is accusing the companies of being negligent for exposing their employees to the harmful substance.
Suit Claims Asbestos Exposure
Houston Wendell and his wife, Patricia, filed the suit in January and have named Houston’s previous employer, DuPont, as one of the defendants.
Wendell was employed with DuPont in Belle, West Virginia, from 1941 to 1980 and claims that during this time he was unknowingly exposed to asbestos.
The suit accuses the companies of failing to warn Wendell of the dangers of asbestos.
Plaintiff Diagnosed with Mesothelioma
Wendell was recently diagnosed with mesothelioma and also says he suffers from pneumoconiosis, which was caused by the inhalation of the products he worked with containing asbestos.
As a result of his illness, Patricia claims she has lost the companionship, society and services of her husband.
Seeking Compensation
The Wendells say they have suffered and will continue to suffer in the future due to the negligence of the named companies.
The couple is seeking compensation for the pain and suffering they have endured as well as the medical expenses and the loss of earnings they will face in the future.
