Mesothelioma: 12 Essential Facts

Florida Man Files Asbestos Exposure Suit

A man living in Florida recently filed a suit against his former employers claiming that they exposed him to the harmful carcinogen, asbestos.

As a result of his exposure, the man says he developed a life-threatening disease, known as mesothelioma, and is now seeking compensation.

Man Claims Workplace Exposure

Leo Flynt was reportedly employed in automotive repairs at various companies throughout Florida, Indiana, and Illinois.

During his employment, he claims he was exposed to asbestos from the products he worked with and around.

“The plaintiff’s exposure and inhalation, ingestion or absorption of the asbestos fibers was completely foreseeable and could or should have been anticipated by the defendants,” explains the suit.

Lawsuit Claims

The lawsuit names 59 defendants, including, CBS, Chrysler, Ford Motor Company and General Motors.

Flynt claims in his suit that his former employers should have been aware that the asbestos fibers contained in their products were toxic and could be life-altering.

He also states that the defendants didn’t require or even advise their employees to wear protective gear in order to prevent asbestos exposure.
