Florida Welder Sues Former Employers

A man living in Florida recently filed a suit against his former employers claiming that they negligently exposed him to asbestos while at work.

The suit was filed against 63 different corporations throughout the United States.

Exposure at Work

Walter Idalski worked as a welder, maintenance worker and foreman for various companies from 1944 to 1983.

During this time, he claims that he was exposed to asbestos fibers and as a result developed mesothelioma, the illness that is currently affecting him today.

“The plaintiff’s exposure and inhalation, ingestion or absorption of the asbestos fibers was completely foreseeable and could or should have been anticipated by the defendants,” says the suit.

Bondex, CBS, Chrysler and Ford Motor Company are among the defendants named in the lawsuit.

Man Suffers from Illness

Idalski claims that the defendants failed to inform their employees of the asbestos that they were being exposed to on a daily basis.

According to the complaint, “Idalski suffers great physical pain and mental anguish and will be prevented from pursuing his normal course of employment, thereby losing large sums of money.”

Idalski is seeking compensation from the defendants for their willful, wanton, intentional and reckless misconduct.
