Suit Filed for Florida Woman Exposed to Asbestos

An asbestos litigation lawsuit was recently filed on behalf of a woman living in Florida whose asbestos exposure reportedly led to illness and her eventual death.

The suit has been filed against 13 companies.

Wife Exposed to Asbestos from Clothing

Luwanna Sue Lariscy filed the suit on behalf of Olive Mae Murphy early this month.

The suit claims that Murphy was exposed to asbestos during the time when she was repeatedly cleaning her husband’s asbestos-laden clothing when he returned from work.

Workplace Exposure

Orla Doak reportedly worked at UB West Virginia, Inc., from 1949 through 1979.

Doak’s clothing was reportedly contaminated with the asbestos that was used in many of the company’s products.

According to reports, asbestos dust was manufactured, distributed, supplied and installed by the use of machinery intended to grind asbestos-containing friction products.

Mesothelioma Sparks Lawsuit

Lariscy filed the suit after Murphy died from the asbestos related illness, mesothelioma.

The plaintiff claims that Murphy died from inhaling the asbestos dust over time and she is seeking compensatory and punitive damages for Murphy’s estate.
