Four families who have endured physical and mental pain as a result of their workplace asbestos exposure and have filled a lawsuit.
The suit has been filed against a previous employer and the trial is set to start within the next month.
Joint Lawsuit
Clellie N. Maddox, Donna Jo Crago, Donald W. Rensi, Lowell L. Sharp and Junior E. Stewart filed the suit against Vimasco Corporations, a Nitro facility.
Owens-Illinois is also named as a defendant in the suit.
The suit claims Clellie Maddox, Donald Rensi, Lowell Sharp and Junior Stewart all contracted lung cancer as a result of being exposed to asbestos while employed at Vimasco.
The men believe they unknowingly inhaled asbestos while working and were not informed of the dangers of the dust or properly protected.
Families Seek Compensation
Although the cancer recently killed Rensi, his family and the other men are fighting to ensure they are compensated for their wrongful exposure.
The suit states that each man has suffered damages for medical expenses, embarrassment, and inconvenience, loss of earning capacity and loss of enjoyment of life.
They are seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
