IL Woman Sues After Losing Husband to Mesothelioma

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

A woman from Illinois recently filed a mesothelioma lawsuit on behalf of her husband who died from mesothelioma.

The woman claims her husband’s asbestos cancer was wrongfully caused and wants compensation for the pain and suffering they both endured as a result.

Husband Exposed at Work

Yvonne Nannini’s husband, William, was employed as a laborer and barber at various locations throughout the state of Illinois from 1952 to 2004.

Nannini claims in her suit that during his professional career, her husband was exposed to asbestos fibers.

Due to his handling and ingesting asbestos fibers, Nannini says he developed mesothelioma, which is a fatal form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos.

Lawsuit Blames Former Employers

Nannini blames her husband’s former employers for her loss of companionship and his wrongful death.

After being diagnosed with mesothelioma, Nannini says her husband was forced to pay large amounts of money for treatments and was unable to continue working.

The plaintiff is seeking a settlement in excess of $450,000 in addition to compensatory damages from the lawsuit.
