There has been a recent increase in texas lawsuits filed by Jefferson County residents who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma or other asbestos-related diseases.
Jefferson County Woman Files Lawsuit on Behalf of Her Late Husband
Laura White is among the Jefferson County residents who filed an asbestos-related lawsuit after losing her husband to pulmonary asbestosis. She claims her husband was wrongfully exposed to asbestos while working on different industrial sites from 1944 to 1984.
White’s lawsuit involves 21 defendant companies, including Amtek, Owens-Illinois and General Electric.
Another Lawsuit Names 67 Defendants
In another lawsuit filed in Jefferson County, Margaret and Marvin Copeland allege that Margaret was exposed to asbestos as a result of negligence by her employer. They claim A.W. Charleston and 66 additional companies manufactured and sold products containing asbestos despite their knowledge of its harmful effects.
Margaret, who worked for the company, is suing for physical and emotional pain, lost income and earning capacity, disfigurement and impairment and medical expenses.
