Suit Claims Manufacturers Distributed Asbestos Products

A suit has been filed against more than 70 companies for conspiring to mine, process and market asbestos products.

The man filing the suit hopes to be compensated for asbestos exposure and asbestos related diseases.

Asbestos Exposure Allegations

Thurman Cash filed the suit against A.W. Chesterton, amongst other companies, claiming they suppressed information regarding asbestos products to their employees and inflicted him with an asbestos disease.

Companies like Viacom, General Electric and Zurn Industries have been named in the suit.

Cash has accused the companies of knowing the products they were manufacturing contained asbestos, but knew they would not be inspected once on the market.

“Defendants knowingly conspired among themselves to cause Cash’s injuries, diseases, and illness by exposing him to asbestos,” states the suit. “Defendants committed conspiracy by willfully misrepresenting and suppressing the truth as to the risks and dangers associated with asbestos.”

The suit also claims the defendants have been in possession of medical data detailing the risks of asbestos exposure but did not release the information.

Cash was most likely exposed to asbestos while at one of his many jobs working at shipyards, steel mills, paper mills and chemical plants.

“Cash has sustained damages including injuries…and has been deprived of the opportunity of informed free choice,” says the suit.

Seeking Compensation

Cash hopes to be compensated for his physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, lost wages, and future medical expenses.
