A suit was recently filed on behalf of a man who died from an asbestos-related illness in Orange County, CA.
The suit was filed by the widow of the man who believes his former employer’s are responsible for his illness and untimely death.
Widow Claims Workplace Exposure
Shirley Deem filed the suit on behalf of her late husband, Ronald Duane, claiming that the company’s he used to work at concealed the hazards of asbestos.
Deem believes that her husband’s former employers purposefully inflicted their employees with the asbestos-related disease.
Suit Filed Names 39 Companies
“Defendants knowingly conspired among themselves to cause Deem’s injuries, disease, and death by exposing him to asbestos without his knowledge,” claims the suit.
Among the companies named in the suit are, Viacom, General Electric, and Zurn Industries.
Court reports state that the man was most likely exposed to the harmful material while working at shipyards, steel mills and refineries throughout the U.S.
Deem is seeking punitive and exemplary damages in the case.
