Reports claim that a harmful amount of asbestos has been found on the MV Freewinds, a cruise ship that is operated by the Church of Scientology.

The ship reportedly operated under the name ‘Majestic Cruise Lines’ and was used for members of the church to attend training services and functions.

Blue Asbestos Discovered

Thousands of people had been aboard the ship before it was sealed and quarantined after blue asbestos was found.

The ship’s captain announced earlier this week that the asbestos was found in the ship’s ventilation system.

CDM was contracted to conduct repairs aboard the MV Freewinds but was forced to cease work due to the high risk of potential exposure.

Public Warned

After meeting regarding the problem, the Executive Council made the decision to inform the public about the incident.

They are encouraging anyone who has been aboard the ship to meet with their doctor to ensure their health and assess their level of exposure.
