Secondary Asbestos Exposure Suit Filed

The estate of a woman living in Illinois recently filed a lawsuit claiming secondary asbestos exposure.

The woman reportedly died from lung cancer soon after being diagnosed and her estate believes her illness was caused by asbestos exposure.

Woman Develops Lung Cancer

Mary Lindsay was diagnosed with lung cancer in January 2007 and died from the illness soon after.

Her husband was reportedly employed as a sheet metal worker from 1957 until his untimely death from an asbestos related disease right before her diagnosis.

Lawsuit Allegations

Lindsay’s estate claims her husband worked with and around asbestos during his career and he would often bring the asbestos home on his clothing.

The suit states that the 75 defendant corporations could have used safer alternatives in their products but instead used asbestos, which is a known carcinogen.

The lawsuit is seeking damages in excess of $250,000.
