The man was reportedly employed by the companies and during his employment worked with and around products containing the harmful carcinogen.
Exposure at Work
Gloria English, filed the suit against on behalf of her husband, William, soon after he passed away from an asbestos-related illness.
According to the suit, during English’s employment in the labor and maintenance departments at the companies, he was exposed at work to toxic chemicals such as asbestos.
“As a result of such exposure, William English, developed an asbestos-related disease for which he died a painful and terrible death on July 8, 2007,” explains the suit.
Defendants Accused of Negligence
English claims that the defendants knew during her husband’s employment that asbestos is cancerous but still permitted their employees to work with the substance.
The suit also claims that the companies failed to warn their employees of the harmful effects asbestos could have, and as a result were acting with malice.
